New House!

We've arrived at our new house! Getting in Sunday night, 2 days before the furniture arrived, resulted in some floor dining. Brooke was propped up in her travel highchair (with Maddie nearby to catch any morsels), while Dad and Mom squatted with our Chinese food containers and chopsticks. The great thing about the new house: low windows in all the rooms! Brooke can see out with no trouble. Here she's checking out the front yard. There was a lively game of cul de sac street hockey going on with the neighborhood kids -- whom Maddie will need to get used to as there's been a bit of barking. I think I heard it was a reenactment of Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals, with the Red Wings winning. Hmm, I think we're going to like it here!

Brooke's First White Sox Game!

Brooke went to her first White Sox game. Here is she is trying out her baseball hat.Dad and Brooke. We took turns inning by inning entertaining her. One inning Dad walked around the whole ballpark with her to provide some distractions.Otherwise, she ate a lot! (raisins, grapes, crackers, cheese, you name it!) Overall, she did great!

Charlie's House

Brooke and Charlie had a fun playdate during our week in Chicago. They played on the deck, with Charlie showing Brooke his fun slide, swing and sand/water box.
Then they took a dip in the pool on the roof (an inflatable pool that Iggy their dog enjoyed possibly the most). Brooke unfortunately didn't enjoy it too much and tears ensued.
Afterwards they roamed the house and checked out the toy box, while their swimmer diapers dripped puddles across the floor.Later that week we also had a fabulous dinner at Charlie's house, with other good friends joining us. Here's Joanna and Isaac. And Hailey. The kids left a tornado trail in Charlie's room, with books and toys strewn about.

Zoo

Brooke and I took a last trip to the fabulous Henry Doorly Zoo. Upon arriving we first had lunch, with Brooke in her stroller and Mom on the bench.Next we stopped to see the elephants. Brooke laughed at them. I guess they looked like large gray "Maddie's" to her.The giraffes were also fun.
